What it is
Wan is a family of open video models from Alibaba's research team — one of the few that genuinely rivals closed Sora and Veo, yet ships under Apache 2.0. Weights download freely from HuggingFace and ModelScope, so you can run it on your own hardware for free and uncensored. The latest Wan 2.7 suite covers text-to-video, image-to-video, voice cloning and instruction-based editing. Don't want to spin up a GPU? A cloud API is available via Alibaba Model Studio.
